Today is a beautiful sunny day where I am in the UK, although with snow forecast again for the end of the week Spring is not quite here yet! Primroses and Snowdrops are valiantly flowering in my garden though, so I have hope that Spring will come soon!
Another thing that gives me hope that Spring will soon be with us are the gorgeous Pantone Spring/ Summer (SS) colours for this year :-)

For those who may not have heard of

Pantone celebrate their 50th year this year with more than 20 years of showcasing the fashion colour trends for the coming seasons through their

complete just yesterday, I thought that I would look at the colour trends for the year ahead. This blog post will focus on Spring/ Summer with a follow up blog for Autumn/ Winter 2013 once I have caught up on all the gorgeousness from LFW!
The SS palette of colours from Pantone both buzzes with the freshness of a Spring morning whilst also including more muted tones to give a full and rounded feel.
From the luscious green of 'Tender shoots', zingy 'Lemon Zest', vibrant 'Poppy Red', bold 'Emerald' and tangy 'Tangerine' through to the mellow 'Greyed Jade', 'African Violet' and soothing 'Linen'. As if travelling from Spring through to a Summers evening, the final shades of 'Dusk Blue' and 'Monaco Blue' take us through to the night time sky.
Many British designers contributed to this palette of colours as can be seen through the collections which were shown last September in preparation for the SS 2013 season.

The colours were beautifully incorporated without being overwhelming; Dusk Blue, Lemon Zest, Greyed Jade, Monaco Blue and Nectarine all included either subtly in shoes and trims or boldly in monochrome dresses.
The collection featured bold flashes and splashes of colour set against linen neutrals as seen in the finale of the
Fashion is not all about clothes of course, accessories are also big news with collections incorporating the feel and colour trends of the season too.
